A lifelong Idahoan, Rachel lives just north of Boise in the small town of Horseshoe Bend. She recently graduated from Idaho Virtual Academy as salutatorian. Online school has allowed her the flexibility to travel internationally and compete at an elite level in the sport of equestrian show jumping. She grew up at Cascade Raft & Kayak and spent much time kayaking and assisting with company operations. She has spent every winter of her life in Chile, and is fluent in Spanish. Though she is an accomplished kayaker, her real passion is horses. Rachel and her two younger sisters care for 10-12 competitive jumping horses and travel around the country to compete. She has been riding all her life, thanks to her grandmother, a top professional trainer. She represented Idaho in the National Pony Jumper Championships in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and won the silver team medal each year. In May 2019 she won her first Regional Standard Grand Prix.
