Jake grew up kayaking on the Payette River with his sister and friends. He started guiding for Cascade in 2020 and, after regrettably taking a summer off, he is thrilled to be back! Jake studies cello performance at a small conservatory in North Carolina during the off season. In addition to cello, Jake is a motivated student of the liberal arts and only occasionally gets in trouble for skipping class to ride his bike. Jake hopes to move to Germany after he graduates from conservatory. Some of his other interests include ethics, trail running, biking, and skiing.
