Bec was born and raised in Colorado with the Gore Range in her backyard and a love of the outdoors cultivated from a young age. She began her career guiding multi-day canoe and rock climbing trips in Northern Minnesota and quickly discovered an interest in wilderness medicine. That interest took her back to Telluride, Colorado, where she worked as an EMT/Firefighter and Search and Rescue member for several years before attending nursing school at the University of Colorado. Her love of whitewater kayaking brought her to Idaho, and she currently works as an ICU nurse in Boise. She is excited to have the opportunity to share her knowledge and experiences with her students.
