Originally from Manassas, Virginia, Jared moved out west for bigger mountains and college. He is currently a sophomore at Utah State University where he is contemplating dropping computer engineering because spending time in the outdoors is way more fun than staring at a computer screen all day. Jared has been a trip leader for the outdoor program at Utah State for one year, but this will be his first season at Cascade Rafting! He grew up spending time on the river with family and friends where they somehow managed to whitewater kayak on Walmart kayaks. During the offseason, Jared spends his time snowboarding in resorts and the backcountry, mountain biking, trail running, climbing, and every once in awhile he’ll find time to do some school as well.
