Currently a resident of Boone, North Carolina, Jay attends Appalachian State University. Jay is joining Cascade Raft & Kayak for the 2025 season. With 2 years of professional river guiding & safety kayaking under his belt, Jay is excited to be on the Cascade team. Jay has grown up exploring rivers and at a young age he landed himself in a kayak where his love for the outdoors really took off. As a Kansas native Jay is certainly not afraid of spending some time driving in order to go play in the mountains. During the off season Jay competes for the App State snowboard team as well as spending his time studying industrial design, mountain biking, and slacklining. As an avid kayaker and member of the App State whitewater club Jay can most often be found on the banks of the Watauga River getting a lap in. Most importantly he is fired up for some whitewater magic with Cascade this season!
